Yes I'm posting again. Sorry not sorry. lol.
Yesterday I went to the thrift store and bought some things. It was 50% off day and as part of my haul I got three books: The Regulators and The Running Man, both by Stephen King, and Moby Dick. All for $1.25! While I was perusing the stacks and marvelling at the complete lack of any sort of organization for the books, and how a classic like Moby Dick could be snuggled right up next to the most banal dime-a-dozen crime fiction book, I thought a fun challenge might be to go to the thrift store, close my eyes, randomly pick a book, and then force myself to read it. Whether good or bad. It would be a fun challenge but also I'm not sure how well I'd stick to it.
I decided to open up a goodreads.com account. I want to catalog and organize all my books. I know I used to have an account several years ago but I can't remember what email I signed up with apparently and I sort of just want a fresh start anyway.
I've been Giving Fantasy a Chance and have been reading the Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs, off of
timetobegin's recommendation. Urban fantasy! I really prefer things that take place in a modern world, so I'm liking this subgenre of fantasy.
skieswideopen found this great website for fantasy book recs, and once I've finished reading the Mercy Thompson series I am going to use it to scope out something else to read.
