dear crossovering author
Jun. 3rd, 2014 10:04 pmHi! Thanks so much for writing me a fic! I'm super excited to see what you can come up with. :)
First off I will say I am easily pleased. As long as you take note of my Do Not Wants, I'm open to anything. In this letter I'm going to provide a list of general fic stuff I like, then I'm going to give some fic ideas/prompts for potential crossovers. But honestly if you've got an idea in mind already, then feel free to run with it even if it doesn't match anything in my letter. Everything in here is just to give you some direction and ideas, it's not a list of demands or anything. ;)
Do Not Wants:
- BDSM
- non-con
- excessive descriptions of non-canon-style violence or gore
- incest
- violence between partners (romantic or platonic)
- PWP (smut is fine, but I would prefer more non-smutty bits to smutty bits, basically)
General Likes:
- angst
- plotty fic
- introspection & examination of emotions
- hurt/comfort (physical or emotional)
- friendship and bonding
- apocalypse or post-apocalypse, general survival, zombies
- anything to do with time travel (normal flavor, time loops, butterfly effect stuff)
- mentor/mentee relationship (either platonic or romantic)
- best friends to lovers
- tropes (some faves: AUs, amnesia, trapped/bonded together, body swapping, undercover relationship, undercover anything. All of these I like played platonically and/or for laughs, too, it doesn't always have to be romantic)
Crossover Specific:
I'm separating this section out by groupings, and then providing some prompts based on 2-fandom groupings. Feel free to combine more than just 2 fandoms though, if you're feeling adventurous. :D Browse through and see what sparks your interest and mix and match, if you like!
Grouping 1: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (TV), Arrow (TV 2012), Marvel (Comics), Marvel Cinematic Universe
Aww yeah superheroes. I love good guys with flaws who still try their hardest to save the day. I love when it blows up in their face sometimes anyway. I love when they support each other. I love the non-superhero sidekicks, and how they interact with the good guys. I love the scientist nerds, being superheroes in their own way. I LOVE EVERYONE IN THIS BAR, basically.
Agents of SHIELD - Arrow:
- Coulson's team needs a place to hide out for a while. They crash with team Arrow.
- Felicity and Skye bump into each other online during a hack. They become friends. (Or adorable hacker frenemies.)
- Fitz needs a miracle drug at the end of s1, and they're fresh out of GH 325. But then they hear about mirakuru.
Agents of SHIELD - Marvel (Comics):
- Coulson's team recruits superheroes for the new and improved SHIELD.
- Someone on Coulson's team needs a lawyer. Jennifer Walters is the best they can afford, since she's not exactly able to be picky right now.
Agents of SHIELD - MCU:
- FitzSimmons, Jane Foster, Bruce Banner, and/or Tony Stark get brainy together to solve a problem. (Or maybe they just all end up at the same science conference together.)
- Steve and Sam are tracking the Winter Soldier, and they cross paths with Coulson's team in the process.
Arrow - Marvel (Comics):
- Arrow + Hawkeyes: Oliver is annoyed when two more archers invade his city.
- Captain Marvel looks for somewhere to escape for a while. She ends up in Starling City.
Arrow - MCU:
- Oliver needs to rebuild his empire. Maybe Stark Industries would give him a loan...
- Team Arrow decides to join the fight against HYDRA.
- The Winter Soldier ends up in Starling City.
Marvel (Comics) - MCU:
- Comics characters join the MCU Avengers (Captain Marvel! Kate Bishop! She-Hulk! Wasp! Darla Deering!)
- How the release of SHIELD's files impacts various 616 characters.
Grouping 2: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (TV), Arrow (TV 2012), Sleepy Hollow (TV), Walking Dead (TV)
Woo, fantasy! I grouped these ones together because I feel they all have canons that would get along well. Pretty much nothing is too weird or unlikely for any of these canons. But I do love it when characters from one canon get exposed to a different flavor of weird, from another canon. And I enjoy characters bonding together in the face of these experiences. So many friendship and found family feelings!
(Note for Walking Dead crossovered fics - death fic is okay. People die all the time in this canon so I'm open to it in fic as well.)
Agents of SHIELD - Arrow:
- Coulson's team needs a place to hide out for a while. They crash with team Arrow.
- Felicity and Skye bump into each other online during a hack. They become friends. (Or adorable hacker frenemies.)
- Fitz needs a miracle drug, and they're fresh out of GH 325. But then they hear about mirakuru.
Agents of SHIELD - Sleepy Hollow:
- Coulson's team investigates some of the weirdness going on in Sleepy Hollow.
- Since it's such a hotbed of supernatural energies, HYDRA + Raina set up shop in Sleepy Hollow. Abbie, Ichabod, Jenny, and Irving get mad.
Agents of SHIELD - Walking Dead:
- The zombie apocalypse hits: how does it affect Team Coulson?
- I see Melinda May as the one most likely to survive and stumble across Rick's group. She and Michonne would be birds of a feather.
Arrow - Sleepy Hollow:
- Irving's background is a little vague. Maybe he was in the army with Diggle, and with things turned to shit at the end of s1 Sleepy Hollow, Irving seeks out his old army buddy for help.
- Roy is searching for Thea. He tracks her to Sleepy Hollow.
Arrow - Walking Dead:
- The zombie apocalypse hits: how does Team Arrow deal with it?
- Bonus death fic option: Oliver has kept Team Arrow alive and together for a while during the zombie apocalypse, until he is killed. Do Felicity, Diggle, and Roy stick together or go their separate ways? Do Sara and Thea reunite with them? Do they meet up with Rick's group?
- The Suicide Squad (or just some of them) are the ones behind Terminus. Team Arrow heads there to take them out.
Sleepy Hollow - Walking Dead:
- The zombie apocalypse hits: how do Abbie, Ichabod, Jenny, and Irving deal with it?
- At the end of S1, Abbie is in purgatory and Ichabod is locked away in a casket. Once they're both freed, they find the world in a very different state.
Grouping 3: Elementary (TV), Intelligence (US TV 2014), Orphan Black (TV), Sleepy Hollow (TV)
All about crime. :) I love when crime solvers team up to figure out a headscratcher. I also love when one team of crime solvers investigates another, and they try to outwit each other before determining they're really on the same side. I love new friendships, and mystery solving, and casefics!
Elementary - Intelligence:
- Sherlock and Joan cross paths with Gabriel and Riley while solving a crime. Gabriel is a very interesting puzzle to Sherlock.
- Gabriel reconstructs a scene, and the perpetrator appears to be Sherlock (or Joan. Or the both of them!).
- Moriarty takes an interest in Gabriel (or more specifically, the chip).
Elementary - Orphan Black:
- I'm convinced Art Bell is a third Bell brother (or perhaps he's a cousin). Art calls Marcus in for help in his clone investigation; he could use the extra eyes now that's he's gone kinda rogue.
- Sherlock gets an anonymous tip about clones, which sparks an investigation and a trip to Canada.
Elementary - Sleepy Hollow:
- Abbie and Ichabod are missing. Jenny and Irving call upon Sherlock and Joan for help.
- While in purgatory, Abbie tries to reach out to her loved ones in dreams, like Katrina did. Instead, she stumbles into Joan Watson's.
Intelligence - Orphan Black:
- Gabriel uses the chip to pick up on the patterns the clones are making (arrest records, sightings, and so on), and he and Riley investigate.
- Cosima wants to know once and for all what Dyad's secrets are. She learns about Project Clockwork and seeks out Gabriel and Riley's help.
Intelligence - Sleepy Hollow:
- Gabriel's chip helps him come to the conclusion that a lot of weird shit is happening in Sleepy Hollow. He and Riley investigate.
- Moloch has been sending Andy out around the country in search of artifacts or books or whatever, and Abbie and Ichabod chase him to DC, and Gabriel and Riley's doorstep.
Orphan Black - Sleepy Hollow:
- Moloch recruits Helena. (Or tries to, anyway. Good luck with that, Moloch!)
- I don't have a concrete idea for this but I can't get over the hilarious mental image of Felix and Ichabod interacting. So however you could make that happen, hah.
- Cosima wants to get away from Delphine and Dyad for a little while, so she heads to the quaint little tourist town of Sleepy Hollow, and immediately becomes interested in the weird things going on around town.
Final Notes:
For further optional reading (in case this letter wasn't long enough), you can check out my dear author tag with letters from previous exchanges.
You can get a sense of my favorite characters and pairings from those previous letters if you want some guidance there. I decided not to clutter up this already ridiculously long letter with that stuff, too. In general, I'm a big fan of female characters, and I tend to hetship (but slash and femslash are not out of the question). I'll say I am also open to any potential crossover pairings you might stumble into, so feel free to experiment. And of course, gen is welcome as well!
I noticed the mods said that fusions are allowed for this crossover but I'll just specify that I am okay with fusions, too. :)
THANK YOU AGAIN, dear author, for reading all this and for writing me a fic. I'm sure I'll love whatever it is you write!
