I watched Andor for the first time, finally, and now I'm back on my Star Wars bullshit.

It was really good. I love when we get fleshed out characters from another movie or show, so that was up my alley. Tell me why, though, I just want to see Cassian and Leia meet up and have adventures together? And, y'know, kiss. Holding out a dim hope that Leia will be a character in s2. She would be getting involved in the rebellion at this point for sure. Anyway, I've fallen down that particular AO3 rabbit hole for this pairing.

I started watching The Mandalorian after finishing Andor. I heard not so great things about the most recent season, but I'll push through. (See previous comment about being on my SW bullshit.) Here for Pedro Pascal and Grogu, who reminds me of one of my cats. <3

And I have had Across the Stars (Anakin and Padme's love theme) stuck in my head for literal days. It's probably one of my favorite melodies from the whole franchise.

Cassian and Leia being rebels together would be amazing!

I'm not sure what "not good things" people mean about that latest season of The Mandalorian, but I thought it was fine. There are several things I really like about it, even if it can get a bit corny at times (like... you know... Star Wars does... lol).
I'm a fan of Bo-Katan though, and I know some fans aren't too keen on her.

I didn't read too deeply into the opinions I saw because I didn't want to be influenced! If it's just corniness then that's silly.. Star Wars is peak corniness, haha. I'm going to watch and see what I think! So far I think The Mandalorian is a bit more fun and lighthearted so camp fits right in. Andor is obviously a very serious drama but I think it's okay for different shows to have different vibes. I'm enjoying it. I just watched an episode where Mando came across this settlement of fishermen who are dealing with a nearby raiding group and he was teaching them how to shoot guns in order to defend themselves, and I was like, there's an SG1 episode just like this, haha. Which is a compliment.

Season three of Mandalorian makes it very clear out the gate that they're doing an old school fantasy season. I enjoyed quite a lot of it!

That sounds fun!! I love when Star Wars leans more into the fantasy side of things. I'm enjoying the show so far, it is much lighter than Andor, but I think there is room for all styles of show in the universe. The opinions of people on the internet aren't always right so I take it with a grain of salt and will see how I feel about it when I get there!

It would nice to be able to see a few old-school characters pop up into the new shows.

The Mandalorian is fine. it's a show aimed at families and children - so yeah you don't have to think too hard!
