mutemath concert
Sep. 14th, 2012 02:51 pmUghhhhhhhh the Mutemath concert last night was ah-ma-zing. Not only the best show I've been to this year, or the best show I've been to in Phoenix, but probably the best show of my life.
I got there early and stood for hours on concrete and my feet still hurt today, BUT IT WAS WORTH IT. I was only a few rows back from the stage.
As a bonus, Civil Twilight was the opening act! I had read that back when I bought the ticket to the show, but for some reason I didn't process who Civil Twilight was til they got onstage and started playing. Then I was like.. wait a minute! I know these guys! Haha. I got to hear Letters From the Sky live so that was an a+ moment. The singer's voice is really amazing and that song is even better live.
They played for an hour and were really good.
But then of course.. MUTEMATH. WHO WERE AMAZING. AND EVERYTHING I'D DREAMED AND HOPED FOR.
Everything I'd heard about Mutemath shows was fulfilled. It was crazy, so much energy. Jumping around on top of their instruments (the drummer stood on his drums while drumming ahaha a+, and of course, KEYBOARD HANDSTANDS), and the singer Paul Meany crowdsurfed like 5 times. A couple times the crowd carried him, he was also carried on the shoulders of his crew once, and he was in a big lit-up inflatable raft thing, lol. He also just jumped down and walked around in the crowd while singing. He literally walked right in front of me and I patted him on the shoulder and IT WAS AWESOME. I TOUCHED PAUL MEANY. jakslfdsfd.
They played stuff from all of their albums, lots of my favorite songs. The crowd was fabulous, everyone there were huge fans, and we all danced and sung along to all the songs. Paul Meaney said it had been 6 years since they were last in Phoenix, but they wouldn't let it go so long again before coming back here, because we were so much fun. :D :D I will be there when they come back. WHEREVER, WHENEVER. RESERVING MY SPOT NOW.
My life is pretty much complete now.. so much fun was had. SO MUCh.
