four things
Oct. 31st, 2013 03:54 amFirst off, a pimp:
galentinesday is a lady-friendship (and more) fic exchange with nominations open now! Nominating fandoms doesn't obligate you to sign up so please go check it out :D
Secondly: I totally randomly applied for a job. (!) I'm sure I won't get it; I'm doubtful I'll even get called in for an interview. But I saw it, and it was too perfect: part time aide position at a Native American museum (one I've been to so that's fun!). This museum is literally right off a light rail stop so it would be perfect to get to. I didn't quite have all the qualifications they wanted (I have 0 museum experience) but I have experience in similar fields so I figured why the hell not, I WILL GIVE IT A GO. The position is taking applications until November 12 so I won't hear anything before then I'm sure.
I know, I know. A job outside of the house?? Me??? But the only reason I did it was because it's so perfect for me (museums and libraries are my definite I WANT TO WORK THERE career areas, more than anything else). Which guarantees I won't get it anyway, so there's really no harm done, lol.
Thirdly: MY HAIR WAS GETTING TOO LONG FOR MY LIKING SO I GRABBED A PAIR OF SCISSORS ILL-SUITED TO THE TASK AND WENT INTO THE BATHROOM AND SAWED IT OFF

I actually think it turned out ok despite myself. But I've got a lot of practice at chopping my own hairs now cause this is like the 4th or 5th time I've done it. SPEND LOADS OF MONEY ON COMIC BOOKS? SURE! SPEND MONEY ON PROFESSIONALLY DONE HAIRCUT? LOL THAT'S OK I CAN DO IT MYSELF.
Fourthly: I DID A CRAFT. I saw these and said YES. YES I SHALL DO THIS.

MATERIALS: pocket cut out from an old shirt your boyfriend was going to throw away, cardboard, scissors, tacks you will abandon later when they don't work how you thought they would.
(Sorry for the grainy photos. I did this + took pictures at 1 in the morning. I should change my craft tag from 'craft of the week' to '1am crafts' because the amount of times I do this stuff at 1am.. is a lot.)

When tacks fail? Duct tape. When ANYTHING fails.. duct tape.

Completed! You have no idea how long it took me to get this reasonably centered on the cardboard hahaha.

ON THE WALL. READY TO HOLD SHIT.

Like.. idk.. a notepad and pen or something. I actually have no idea what I want to put in here, I just put these things for the photo, lol. BUT IT'S CUTE AND I LIKE IT?
Ok ok mine's a bit jankier than the totally pro ones I linked to, but hey, first try. Maybe I'll do more eventually. I need to find something with a flap pocket though. I should go buy clothes from the thrift store just for their pockets. XD
