dear hurt/comfort ex writer
Mar. 3rd, 2023 03:09 pmFor my Hurt/Comfort exchange writer:
Thanks so much writing me a fic. <3
All of my requests feature either person as the hurt one, because for all these pairings I would really enjoy either. All of my freeform requests are somewhat elastic, you are free to interpret them in a way that still honors their original intent. I love a happy ending, but it's also not required, as long as the comfort part of the hurt/comfort equation is still there. I prefer relationship development and plot over smut, though you can include a sex scene if that's where the story takes you!
General Likes
realization of feelings, will they/won't they, first times of all sorts, protectiveness, slow burn, falling in love, friends to lovers
DNWs
excessive fluff/schmoopiness, non-canon character death, non-canon-compliant gore, descriptive body horror (the details just squick me, vague descriptions are fine), PWP, partner abuse, pregnancy
Specifics, broken down by fandom/request:

Hurt in the wilderness
I love the relationship between the f!Sole Surviver and Nick so much, and that as the player, we help Nick finish uncovering his past and tying up the loose ends. (I also love the whole idea of Nick, that it's not really 'his' past, but that he has accepted it as his.) I was always bummed that the player isn't able to romance Nick, which makes no sense to me! You can see in my freeform suggestions above, there is some emphasis on amnesia/altered states/mind control, etc. Since the main part of Nick's quests are helping him find himself, I have something of an attachment to that whole subgenre of h/c for their relationship. I also have a lot of tropes to do with someone being injured and unintentionally revealing feelings as a part of that. I think it can even work for Nick. Eg for 'feverish confessions' I think it's within the parameters to give him some sort of synth-based virus that emulates a fever, or something like that.

You could say I'm a little upset over the ending of Love & Thunder, so I'm into the idea of fix-it fic right now. Or at the very least, some dead!Jane and dead!Loki bonding over their mutual annoyance with Thor. Since they are both dead now, I think that opens up a lot of fun possibilities. Other than that, I am very much a lover of many of the typical Lokane tropes and I just absolutely can never get enough of them. Loki's begrudging respect for Jane's intelligence and courage, Jane's begrudging allowance that perhaps Loki is a bit more nuanced than previously suspected, and the zany situations they are forced in to make them both come to these realizations. Yesss.

Sharing a bed to keep a close eye on hurt character's well-being & needs
Oh, the chemistry these two shared!! It leapt off the screen and really took me by surprise. And I instantly loved it. I feel like Matt and Jen have a very solid base already of mutual respect and attraction, obviously, that's canon. But they also would want to keep it very casual. Well, I don't want casual, I want the big love, haha. But because of their personalities I see them as wanting to pretend deeper feelings aren't there until they can't pretend any more, or being in situations that force confessions of feelings to the surface. I also really like the idea of these two knowing each other very intimately but being kind of unaware that they know each other so well.

To me, Nick and Trubel share a close bond that nobody else in their lives can emulate; that's just a side effect of being Grimms. The show frames them in a mentor-mentee way which is like catnip to me. I always end up hardcore shipping mentor-mentee relationships. It's two people who become so intimately close with one another, I just love that base of closeness that gives way to romantic feelings. Nick is older than Trubel but he's not even old enough to be her dad, he's only about a decade older. I can see him feeling awkward about it at first, and resisting it due to that, until some kind of event forces those feelings into the open. :) A lot of my freeforms are in that neighborhood as a result. I also just like their close, quiet relationship together, this unbreakable bond that they have.
