great fringe rewatch of 2023
Aug. 22nd, 2023 04:18 pmI've started a rewatch of Fringe, which is very exciting to me. I haven't really rewatched the show since it ended. But it's great because while I certainly remember lots about the show, there's lots I apparently don't remember, as watching each episode so far has been very fun and partially-new to me because it's been so long.
Thoughts I'm having on this journey:
- This show was so, so, SO good. So solid, and so wonderfully written and acted. Sometimes the fervor of your fandom blinds you to flaws, but watching the show again, 15 years later, I have to say.. pretty much no flaws. If you ask me, Fringe is a criminally underrated scifi show. I cannot wait to progress further in the story, because it gets so much more exciting from here.
- Anna Torv, Joshua Jackson, and John Noble are three insanely incredible actors and looking back, it's mind blowing to me that they got all that talent together for one show. All 3 of them are powerhouses and I love watching them all. The relationships between each set of them in every combination + the 3 of them together is just sO GOOD AUJDfjkds.
- The chemistry between Peter and Olivia really was there from episode one. :))))))))) My inner shipmonster is lumbering awake as the episodes go along. But what I love best (and feels right from how I remember it the last time around), was that Peter falls hard for Olivia first. (My favorite flavor of het- the guy falling first. :D)

- Olivia remains one of my favorite tv characters of all time. Remember that time her dinner was a bowl of dry cereal and a glass of straight up whiskey, without even any ice? Lmao.
tl;dr this is me right now:
