Aug. 16th, 2014 02:05 pmSo I've been giving Kindle Unlimited a trial run (first month is free) and it's been pretty good, but a lot of stuff I wanted to read just wasn't available on it. My trial runs out in 6 days so I've been considering my options, if I want to stick with kindle unlimited or not. And then I ran across this article which reminded me that HEY. LIBRARIES HAVE EBOOKS NOW.
I already have a library card so it was a simple matter of logging into my library's system, and there it was, BLAM, an ebook section. The first thing I searched for - which kindle unlimited didn't have - was the next book in the Mercy Thompson series that I haven't read yet because I've been too cheap to buy the books. But my library had it! They only have so many ebook copies apparently, and they were all "checked out," so I put a hold on the book last night. And then this morning I got an email that the book was available and had been automatically checked out on my account and was available to read. SO EXCITE. THIS IS WAY BETTER THAN KINDLE UNLIMITED. And it's totally free because LIBRARYYYYYy. SO I'll be cancelling my kindle unlimited trial for sure. YAY
